What drew you to Bettendorf Schools?
What drew me to Bettendorf Community School District was its strong reputation for academic excellence and its commitment to developing the whole child. I was impressed by the district’s focus on community involvement and student-centered learning, which aligns with my own teaching philosophy.

Tell us a little about yourself outside of work (family, pets, hobbies).
Outside of work, I am a mom to a beautiful little girl, Dorthy, who is going into 1st grade. We also just rescued a puppy, Major, who keeps us busy! As a family, we enjoy playing softball, which involves us traveling all over on our weekends. In our free time, we love relaxing at home watching movies.

What’s one fun fact most people don’t know about you?
While I am not proficient, I know some American Sign Language. I was fortunate to learn ASL as a language in high school.

What are you most excited about in your new role?
I’m most excited about helping students grow into confident, capable learners by meeting them where they are and supporting their unique strengths. I love the middle school age because students are developing their identity, and I see it as a critical time to build self-advocacy and independence. I’m also excited to collaborate with families and other educators to create supportive, inclusive environments where students feel safe and empowered.
